A Message from your President
Hello Iowa Business Educators!
It may be a cold winter, but IBEA is warming up for a time of growth and new ideas. It is my greatest wish for IBEA to take the lead in supporting all Iowa business education organizations together. With our support, we can come together to grow in best practices, leadership, and new member involvement. Our membership is strong, but there are many more educators across the state who would benefit from joining. Let’s make this a year of growth for IBEA!
Our current President-Elect, Dara Knudtson, had already made great strides in planning for the 2019 IBEA Conference with a theme of “Building a Better You.” Her committee is working toward several excellent speakers and breakout sessions for both high school and college interests. The keynote speaker, Alissa Garner, will inspire us with her research on work-life balance. Registration will start before you know it! Please plan to join us on September 29-30, 2019 in Des Moines for another motivational IBEA conference.
My year as IBEA President is already half over, and there is still much work to be done. As a member, one of the biggest ways you can help is to simply talk to your colleagues about the benefits of membership and the camaraderie we share when we join forces in improving what we do in the classrooms every day. If you are interested in becoming more involved with IBEA, please reach out to an Executive Board Member before or at the fall conference.
I’m excited about the direction we’re headed as a prominent business organization in Iowa. Let’s do it together!
Trisha Hopper, IBEA President
